Clinic token system
A QR token system for clinics in India
DoctorIn is a clinic token system built around one QR stand at reception. Patients scan it with their phone camera, with no app and no login, and see the running token, whether the doctor is available, OPD timings and directions. Reception updates everything from a PIN-protected page on any phone.

What is a clinic token system?
A clinic token system gives every patient a number in the order they arrive or book, and shows which number the doctor is seeing now. It replaces calling out names, writing names on a whiteboard, or patients asking the receptionist again and again how long they have to wait.
Most token systems need a screen at the desk or a printer for slips. DoctorIn puts the token display on the patient's own phone instead. One QR stand at reception opens the clinic's page, and that page always shows the current token.
How does DoctorIn's QR token system work?
- 1A patient scans the QR stand at reception with the phone camera. No app is needed.
- 2The clinic's branded page opens at its own address, for example your-clinic.doctorin.online.
- 3The page shows the running token, the doctor's status, OPD timings, directions and a call button.
- 4When the doctor is ready for the next patient, reception taps + Next Token on the PIN-protected reception panel.
- 5Every patient's page shows the new token number.
The full walkthrough, from setup day to a normal OPD, is on how DoctorIn works.
What do patients see after scanning?
- Live token board: the running token and the next ones. Numbers only, never names.
- Doctor status: Available, In Surgery or Break.
- Doctor and specialty directory with qualifications and room numbers.
- OPD timings for morning and evening batches, plus notices such as a holiday or a late start.
- One-tap Google Maps directions and a one-tap call to reception.
- Slot booking with a ₹100 UPI deposit, adjusted in the consultation bill.
What does reception control?
Reception works from a PIN-protected page at /admin that opens on any staff phone or counter tablet. From there they:
- Set the doctor's status to Available, In Surgery or Break.
- Move the token forward, or back one step to correct a mistake.
- Reset the token to the start of the day with one click.
There is nothing to install and nothing to log in to beyond the PIN.
Does it need an app, special hardware or a printer?
No app, for patients or staff. Patients use the phone camera; reception uses a browser.
The QR sits on a premium acrylic desk stand on the Smart Clinic and Multispecialty Pro plans (Pro includes 2 stands). Starter Desk uses a high-resolution printable laminated QR. Multispecialty Pro also adds a full-screen token view for a waiting-room TV.
Is patient privacy protected?
Yes. The token board shows token numbers only, never patient names or personal details. That is the main difference from a whiteboard at the desk.
Booking details travel as a WhatsApp message from the patient's phone to reception. More on the privacy policy and security pages.
What is DoctorIn not?
DoctorIn is not an HMIS or EMR. It does not store patient records, write prescriptions or run billing. It gives no medical advice. It does one job: showing patients the queue and the doctor's status, and taking deposit-backed bookings.
