Why does a single-doctor clinic need a token system?
When there is one doctor, every patient is waiting for the same person. If the doctor is delayed, every patient in the waiting room and on the phone wants to know why and for how long, and all of those questions reach the one person at the desk.
A visible token number and a visible doctor status answer most of those questions before they are asked. Patients can see where the queue is and decide for themselves whether to wait, step out, or come back later.
How does doctor status help?
Reception sets the doctor's status to Available, In Surgery or Break with one tap. Patients see it on the clinic's page the next time they look. When the doctor is called away for a procedure, the page says so, and patients don't have to find out by waiting.

What does a typical day look like?
- 1Reception opens the panel at /admin on a phone, enters the PIN and resets the token for the day.
- 2The doctor arrives, and reception sets the status to Available.
- 3Patients scan the QR stand and see the running token. Those at home open the same page from the clinic's link.
- 4Each time the doctor calls the next patient, reception taps + Next Token.
- 5If the doctor steps out, reception switches the status to In Surgery or Break, and back to Available on return.
Can patients book a slot in advance?
Yes, on Smart Clinic. The patient taps Book a slot, chooses a batch, pays a ₹100 deposit by UPI and sends a prefilled WhatsApp message with the 12-digit UTR. The deposit is adjusted in the consultation bill, so it is not an extra charge. It mainly discourages prank and no-show bookings. See no-show protection.
